Thompson / Moseley Residence, San Marino, CA 1959/1989

This fine example of Post and Beam was designed and built for Dr. Walter Thompson and his family by BUFF, STRAUB & HENSMAN in 1959.

The architects talent for best use of the site is evident here. They chose the orientation and views to give great openness and complete privacy in basically a city lot, a few blocks from the South Lake Shopping area. A retreat in the city.

The fourth owners bought it in 1985 and restored and updated the house with Conrad and Don and designer Bob Moore in 1989.

A classic post and beam house with the unique distinction of receiving two merit awards from the A.I.A. with a thirty year interval.
